Mark Spitulski, owner of MKS Arborist Services, was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. Following his graduation from McDowell High School, Mark earned a degree in Forestry from Paul Smith’s College, The College of the Adirondacks. He then began a sixteen-year career with Asbury Woods, where he assisted in developing a Forest Management Plan for the organization’s 50-acre wooded property. In 2005, Mark helped transform the property into the community treasure it is today by overseeing the targeted removal of diseased, hazardous, and invasive trees, along with the selection and planting of more than 250 native plants throughout the property.
Continuing his education and professional development, Mark earned the ISA Certified Arborist credential through the International Society of Arboriculture in 2008 and established MKS Arborist Services later that year. Since then, Mark has continued to pursue advanced education and industry certifications with a strong focus on arboriculture science, tree risk assessment, urban forestry, pruning standards, and tree and plant appraisal. Mark currently holds the following professional credentials through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA): • ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) • ISA Certified Urban Forest Professional (CUFP) • ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) • ISA Prescription Pruning Qualification (PPQ) • ISA Certification Number: PD-1848BF In addition, Mark holds the ASCA Tree and Plant Appraisal Qualification (TPAQ) through the American Society of Consulting Arborists. Mark is among a small number of arborists in Northwestern Pennsylvania to hold multiple advanced ISA and ASCA credentials focused on tree risk assessment, consulting arboriculture, urban forestry, prescription pruning, and tree appraisal. His work emphasizes science-based recommendations, industry standards, and practical long-term tree management solutions for residential, commercial, municipal, and consulting clients. MKS Arborist Services is fully insured and maintains all appropriate licenses for the arboricultural and consulting services offered. |
